How Express Book Works for Venues

Express Book allows guests to view availability, select menu items and submit a payment method, expediting the booking process for both venues and guests.

Once your guest has completed the Express Book Steps and has submitted a request, the venue must be Accept or Decline the request received via text and/or email within 24 hours. If the event is not Accepted or Declined within 24 hours, the event will expire and disappear from your event dashboard. 

Accepting and Declining Express Book Events

Pending Express Book requests will appear in their own tab. If an Express Book request is accepted, it will automatically move into Active Events as a Confirmed event.

Accepting an Express Book Event

To Accept an event, click the green Accept button on the Express Book event.

Once you click Accept, you will be prompted to charge the credit card submitted with the event request to complete the acceptance.

Once Accepted, two things will happen:

1. The event status will change to Confirmed, and the event will move to the Active Events table and be editable like a normal event.

2. The guest will receive an email confirmation indicating their event has been Accepted and their deposit has been charged.

An Express Book badge will appear in the upper left corner of Express Book events after they've been Accepted or Declined. If Accepted, the event will operate the same as any normal Confirmed event.

Declining an Express Book Event

To Decline an event, click the red Decline button on the Express Book event..

Once you click Decline, you will be prompted to write an optional Decline Reason message that will be included in an email notification.

After the event is Declined, three things will happen:

  1. The event status will change to Lost and you can find it within Reports.
  2. The guest will be notified via email.
  3. The signature and payment method will be deleted from the event.

Modifying a Declined Express Book Event

Express Book events cannot be modified before they are Accepted/Declined. However, if you would like to modify the event afterward, you can Accept the event and then discuss changes with the guest. You can also Decline the event and find it in your Lost Events Report. 

Then click into the event, change the Status to "Lead" and modify from there!
