Perfect Venue partners with Square to provide low-cost, secure, and easy online payments.
How can I connect my Square account to Perfect Venue?
- Head into Integrations in Settings
- Click the green "Connect" button
- Next, if you already have an account with Square, you will be prompted to log in. If not, you can sign up from there!
- All new events will be on Square, but payments made on existing events will be on Stripe.
- You can see in the lower right hand corner on the Payments page what the processor is for that event (see screenshot below)
- You should keep Stripe connected at least until all previous events using Stripe are closed out.
- Whatever payment method was connected last will be the one that is used as the default. If you have both connected, and disconnect one, the other one will become the default.
Your first payment you take through Perfect Venue can take anywhere from 5-10 business days to hit your bank account. Square will payout your transactions depending on the schedule you set in your account!
What if I have multiple locations in Square?
If you have a Square account with multiple locations, you will need to configure the corresponding location within Perfect Venue.
- Once you have connected your Square account, you will be prompted to select the location.
- Select the corresponding location and click Confirm.
- These steps should be repeated for each venue in Perfect Venue.
Note: If you ever need to change the associated Square location, you can do so by clicking "Configure"
How can I disconnect Square?
If you need to disconnect your Square account, simply click "Disconnect"!
Frequently Asked Questions
I have a newly created Square account connected to Perfect Venue, why can't I collect payments?
Before you can connect payments through Perfect Venue, you will need to finish your account set-up within Square.
Please find Square's help article for account set-up here!
Can I use Square for Express Book?
Currently, Express Book works only if you are connected to Stripe. We have plans in the near future to allow Square to be used with Express Book!
Are guests' bank accounts stored in Perfect Venue if guests are paying by ACH through Square?
Credit card information is stored through PCI compliance & can be charged by the venue. However, Square does not store bank accounts, so the guest will have to re-enter their bank information if they are making another payment via ACH.
Can I have both Stripe and Square connected to Perfect Venue?
Yes! One thing to note is that you can only use one payment processor at a time, per event. If you would like to change your default payment processor, please contact support@perfectvenue.com and we will make this change.
I connected my Square account, why are the events that are already created still showing Stripe as the payment processor?
Once you connect Square, it will be the default payment method for all NEW events. The events that are already in your Perfect Venue account will still require Stripe as the payment processor.
How do I know what payment processor is being used for a specific event?
Head into the Payments tab within the event and see the payment processor in the bottom right corner:
